It’s Never Too Late!

Filed under: Uncategorized — ccassello @ 3:37 am
This morning I woke up with the intention of working on book reviews for Children’s Literature. I did my journal entry, even writing that I was going to skip one of the writing groups to stay home and work on them. Before I finished writing, I was falling asleep with my pen in my hand. I was doing this later than usual, having talked to two people on the phone, eaten breakfast and looked at stuff on the computer already. That is probably what disturbed the rest of the day.

When I began to fall asleep, I knew I would not be able to do the book reviews at that time, so I took a nap. When I woke up from the nap I ate lunch and then it was time to listen to Michael Savage. I did not get to the book reviews at all today. And I am getting tired again. This weather has been taking a toll on my body and reminding me that it is not as young as my mind is. It is as Jesus said when He asked His disciples to watch and pray with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane and found them sleeping, "The spirit is willing but the body is weak."

It is so hard to not get done the things I want to do and not blame myself for just being lazy or procrastinating. Or, I may do one thing out of three or four I thought I would accomplish. That is when I start doubting if I will ever be able to do what I would like to with my writing, and that takes the least physical effort of the things I need to be doing. But, God understands and it is in His time table, not mine. Patience is a hard thing to learn.
